The Blue Hole is one of the most legendary dive sites in the Mediterranean Sea. Viewed from the surface, it is a deep blue "pot" enclosed by rock walls, but the full beauty of this place is only revealed below the surface. After you have covered the uncomfortable route from the parking lot over the coralline limestone plateau, you are rewarded at the entrance with the sight of the almost oval pool. The clear water glistens invitingly green and blue, and you can put the finishing touches on your equipment before diving down. The furrowed inner walls of the Blue Heels are covered with sponge colonies and star corals. A spacious cavern in the back wall invites you to explore but the most spectacular part is a wide archway at a depth of eight or more meters, through which one leads into the open sea. Now you have to decide in which direction to dive, because there are numerous attractions all around: rugged rocky landscapes, canyons, a chimney and schools of fish standing over the boulders in the sun.
