GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURES
The Seychelles lie in the western part of the Indian Ocean and consist of approximately 115 islands. The individual islands of the Seychelles are distributed over a total area of approximately 455 km2 and consist either of corals or of granite. These granite islands are unique worldwide. The Seychelles are divided into six large island groups as well as two island. About 90,000 inhabitants live on just 21 islands. The international airport is located on the island of Mahé, the capital of Victoria. On the island, the official languages are French, English and Seychelles. The Seychelles is located in the UTC +4 hours.
DIVING AT DESTINATION
DIVING QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
The Seychelles offer a beautiful and varied underwater world, which divers can explore independently of the experience year round. Popular dive sites are located, for example, near the main island of Mahé: Marine Park Ste. Anne. Also recommended is diving near the island of Ile Desroches, which is one of the special dive sites in the Indian Ocean.
Depending on the prevailing season, divers can see different sea-dwellers. In the months August to December, divers have a high chance to dive with whale sharks and mantara. But also outside this time it is worthwhile to dive into the underwater world of the Seychelles. Numerous wrecks offer a habitat for batfish. In addition, divers can observe turtles, reef sharks, barracudas, eagle and thorncatchers, lobster or buffalo head parrotfish all year round.
The best diving conditions have travelers in the months of March to May and September to November. During these periods visibility of up to 30 m can be achieved.

MARSA ALAM
MAHÉ
Mahé is one of the main islands of the Seychelles and a suitable starting point for exploring the marvelous dive sites of the Seychelles. One of the most worthwhile places is the National Park Ste. Anne, which can be reached by boat within a few minutes. This dive area offers an underwater world with more than 150 species of fish. Particularly worth seeing are the whale sharks, which are mainly in the marine national park in the months August to November.
CLIMATE
The Seychelles are characterized by a tropical climate and are a popular tourist destination, which can be visited all year round due to the average temperatures around the 27 to 29 ° C.
BEST TRAVEL TIME
The best time to travel is from May to October of every year, since it is cooler and drier.
