Italy is located in southern Europe and lies on the one hand on the Mediterranean Sea and on the other on the Adriativ Sea. Around 60.6 million people are living in Italy on a total are of around 301.000 km2 . The capital os Rome and the official language is Italian. Italy is in the time zone TC + 1 / + 2 hours.

DIVING QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Italy offers a variety of interesting diving areas. In particular, the islands of Sicily, Elba, Ponza and Ventotene, but also Ustica as a marine reserve, offer a varied underwater flora and fauna, in which the diving experience is characterized by great views, different corals, exciting wrecks, volcanic rocks and caves. During a dive into the underwater world, perch, barracudas, precious corals, turtles, small sharks and even dolphins can be spotted.
The best diving conditions are from April to November.

SARDINIA

The island of Sardinia is located in the Mediterranea Sea and is about 200km off Italy’s coast. Sardinia is sourrounded by a clear water world in which a multitude off attractions await. You can dive relaxed through caves, admire colorful corals on the slopes and meet a colorful mix of fish. One of the worthwhile diving spots in the east of the region is Cala Ganone. There are a number of different wrecks in the depths of the udnerwater world. Tuna, eagle fish, moray eels and bream also belong to this underwater panorama.

ISLAND OF ELBA

The island of Elba is one of 14 islands of the Tuscan Archipelago and is located off the Mediterranean coast of Italy. Elba is a popular region for diving into the underwater world. This underwater world offers spectacular slopes, gigantic red fan corals, grottos and exciting wrecks. In addition, barracudas, moray eels, and perch have their habitat here. The Scoglietto nature reserve, which is located in the north of the island of Elba, is one of the most spectacular diving spots in the region.

Italy has a Mediterranean climate in the south. The average temperature in southern Italy is around 29°C in the summer months and 14.5°C in the winter months.

BEST TRAVEL TIME

The best time to travel to Italy is June to September.
