GEOGRAPHICAL FEATURES

Greece is located in southern Erope and, beyond the mainland, also includes the Pelopennese peninsula and more than 3,000 islands (including Crete, Rhodes). Most of them are located in the Aegean, Ionian and Libyan seas. About 11 million people are living in Greece on a total area of about 132,000 km2. The capital is Athen and the official language is Greek. Greece is in the time zone UTC +2/+3 hours.

DIVING QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Greece offers a variety of unique diving areas. In particular the underwater world around the islands in the regions of the Aegean and Ionian Seas, divers can explore remarkable steep walls, exciting wrecks, caves and reefs. Mainly nudibranchs, crabs, seahorses, perches and eels can be spotted.
Diving is possible all year round. The best diving time is June to September.

The island of Mykonos is located in the Aegean Sea. Here divers can make an exciting excursion into the depths of the sea, which offers not only wrecks and caves but also unique rock formations. In between there are a multitude schools of fish.

Most of Greece has a Mediterranean climate. The average temperature in summer is 30°C.

The best time to travel to Greece is June to October.
