French Polynesia is a country in the Pacific Ocean, which is assigned to the French overseas territory. The land in the South Seas consists of a series of more than 100 small islands, atolls, archipelago. About 270,000 inhabitants live on a total area of about 4.167 km2. The international airport is located on the island of Tahiti near the capital Papeete. From there, you can continue your journey with domestic flights or boats, depending on your travel budget and destination. On the island, the official language is French.
